Learn the basics of machine sewing while creating simple, yet practical and useful projects. Additional projects TBD by teacher based on student skills and time available.
Skills Learned:
- Operate the sewing machine
- Understand sewing tools and terms
- Seams and finishes
- Follow sewing instruction to create a project

- Pillow Case
- Tote Bag
Class size is limited to 5 students per session so as to provide more personal instruction.
RFA provides sewing machines and sewing supplies. RFA has a small supply of donated fabrics avaiable for projects ($1 per yd donation,) but the designs are limited.
Students are encouraged to bring fabric of their own choice. A supply list will be sent after registration.
This is a “progressive skills” sewing class in three monthly sessions @ $125 per. Students may take one, two, or all session (of their choice.)
- Session 1, September: Beginners – basic machine sewing skills
- Session 2, October: Intermediate A – sewing a simple pair of pants
- Session 3, November – Intermediate B- sewing a button down, collared shirt/blouse
