Recovery Happens 2026: Resilience in Recovery

There is Resilience in Recovery! Get connected to a community that is fun and believes recovery is possible.

Join us from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, at the Redding City Hall Sculpture Park for FREE food, music and family fun.

Listen to inspiring testimonials from people in recovery and talk with substance use treatment providers at the event’s resource fair. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or picnic blankets.

This annual September event is organized in observance of Recovery Happens Month, a time when we celebrate the gains made by people in recovery, educate the community about treatment and unite to break down stigma surrounding substance use challenges.

Recovery Happens is made possible by a collaboration between local nonprofit treatment providers, sober living homes, health clinics and government agencies. The committee works throughout the year to plan the month’s festivities.

For questions regarding the event, reach out to Joanna Chorpenning at jchorpenning@shastacounty.gov.

*Recovery Happens is a smoke-free event.
